THE PUB

Established in in the 19th century by developer and publican John White, this landmark pub is located in the heart of St John’s Wood.

Interesting fact!

In 1842 on Christmas Day, John MOORE leased “The Duke of York” at 1, Upper York Place for £75 rent per annum [equivalent to £5,152 today]. He stayed there until 1858 when he was 76 yrs old.

Dale

Dale has spent two decades working behind the bar at the Duke, where he has become a familiar face to the pub’s regulars. He takes great pride in providing exceptional hospitality to all of the pub’s guests. When he’s not tending to the bar, Dale can be found performing on stage and has previously  appeared Beauty and the Beast and Mamma Mia.

Lucy

General Manager Lucy is passionate about all things beer and loves finding new and exciting small breweries to showcase on the bar. When she’s not working she loves exploring new places to eat and drink around town.

Alex

Alex has been a valued member of the pub team for nearly a year. They have a passion for creating unique and delicious cocktails and can whip up the best Espresso Martini and Bloody Mary in the area so fast, it’ll make your head spin. When not shaking things up behind the bar, Alex can be found fencing, writing and reading.
